  1. Updated the form based on user feedback. Improved error navigation, clearer guidance on where and how to submit returns, more detailed and easier to understand error messages, improved formatting to support data entry, and removed unnecessary data requirements.

  2. Version 17.0 of the waste tonnage return form includes enhanced auto validation to ensure all required fields are completed before submission. Mandatory fields are clearly marked, dropdown lists have been strengthened to reduce entry errors, and the form provides clearer messages to help operators supply the correct information. These improvements will help users submit complete and accurate returns with confidence, while all submissions remain subject to further Environment Agency checks after receipt.

  3. Updated the pick list for Origins and Destinations and minor amendments to column headings.

  4. Updates to the local authorities in the origin and destination columns, and disposal and removal codes.

  5. Updated hyperlinks, guidance notes and to the local authorities in the origin and destination columns.

  6. Provided a new version which updates the local authorities in the origin and destination columns.

  7. We have increased the number of rows in the spreadsheet. This allows operators to submit more than 2000 lines of data.

  8. Added a link to the national operator returns privacy notice.

If you cannot submit your return online, you can email it using this spreadsheet. Before you complete it save the file to your device. Right-click and select the ‘save as’ option. Then open and complete it.

If your completed spreadsheet is a very large file you may need to zip it. Then the email will deliver successfully.

The Environment Agency requires returns for sites in England. Send your returns for sites in Wales to Natural Resources Wales.
