The information you have requested is not provided in this response because it is already publicly available and reasonably accessible to you by other means. As such, the exemption at section 21 (information accessible by other means) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 applies.

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate publishes information on marketing authorisation holders and authorised products, including their active substances, via its publicly accessible Product Information Database (PID). This database allows users to search and filter products by active substance and to view details of the relevant authorisation holder.

How to access the information:

You can access the Product Information Database here:

To locate products containing a specific active substance (for example Fipronil or Imidacloprid), please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Product Information Database using the link above.
  2. Select “Search”.
  3. In the “Active substance” field, enter the name of the substance (e.g. Fipronil or Imidacloprid).
  4. Run the search to view a list of all authorised products containing that substance.
  5. Selecting an individual product record will display further details, including the marketing authorisation holder.

The database can also be used to search directly by product name or authorisation holder, depending on your requirements.

As the information you requested is already available via this publicly accessible database, we are not required to provide it again under the Freedom of Information Act.
