Searches of our historic records have been unsuccessful in finding the date the Veterinary Products Committee was first informed of the presence of Cresylic Creosote in sheep dip.
The authorisation and subsequent discussions on various sheep dips with certain active and excipient substances has been ongoing for more than 40 years. Our records from the 80’s and 90’s may deliver inconclusive results, and we cannot answer with any certainty. If you were able to provide more information to help narrow down our searches, it maybe that we can help you under a new FOI request, although I cannot guarantee it would be successful.
