This work updates the evidence relating to the potential for improvements in energy efficiency in UK industry. In this context, EE reduces the delivered energy consumed per unit of production of industrial output. 

This report updates the 2015 Industrial Decarbonisation and EE Roadmaps to 2050, which considered energy-related levers available to decarbonise industry, including EE, fuel switching and carbon capture, utilisation and storage. This research relates to EE measures available within the industrial process only, and does not include building level or behavioural EE measures.
