Social landlords with Universal Credit claimants need to verify or report any rent changes in April 2019.
What claimants need to do
From 3 April 2019, claimants with a social landlord will be asked to report any change to their housing costs in their online account.
They can only report the change if it has already happened.
What social landlords need to do
If you have access to the landlord portal, we are working to develop functionality to enable bulk upload reporting of these changes using the portal.
In the meantime, we would urge all landlords to work with their claimants to ensure that they respond to the ‘to do’ which was issued to them between 3 April and 8 April, as it remains the claimant’s responsibility to notify all changes of circumstance (including housing costs), and the bulk upload functionality is not intended to replace this.
If you have a question
If you have a question about the rent changes, contact Universal Credit through your usual route.
