Letter from Julian Ashby, Chair of the Regulation Committee, to chairs of all large registered providers highlighting the publication of our new analysis of cost variation across the social housing sector, Delivering better value for money: understanding differences in unit costs, and setting out changes to our approach to regulating the Value for Money (VfM) standard.

The description of disaggregated management and service charge costs per unit in ‘Data sources and notes’ has been amended since the letter was circulated to providers on 8 June. This is a minor amendment that does not affect the definition of headline social housing costs per unit or data supplied to providers (12 July 2016).
