What we do

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) helps create successful communities by making more homes and business premises available to the residents and businesses who need them. We also regulate social housing providers in England.

HCA is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Our policies

  1. Economic development in coastal and seaside areas

We're investing in coastal and seaside areas to help reverse their economic decline and to create opportunities for jobs and businesses.

  2. Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and enterprise zones

Local enterprise partnerships and enterprise zones have been created to drive public sector growth and reduce administrative burdens.

  3. House building

We're helping to get Britain building again, through schemes like the NewBuy Guarantee, New Homes Bonus and loan guarantees for developers.
