What we do

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) helps create successful communities by making more homes and business premises available to the residents and businesses who need them. We also regulate social housing providers in England.

HCA is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Our policies

  1. Supporting economic growth through local enterprise partnerships and enterprise zones

    Local enterprise partnerships and enterprise zones have been created to drive public sector growth and reduce administrative burdens.

  2. Increasing the number of available homes

    We're helping to get Britain building again, through schemes like the NewBuy Guarantee, New Homes Bonus and loan guarantees for developers.

  3. Helping people to buy a home

    We're helping people wanting to own their own home through schemes like the Help to Buy and Right to Buy and encouraging self-builders.
