HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) commissioned IFF Research to undertake quantitative research with those who had ever held a Lifetime Individual Savings Account (LISA).

The overall aim of this research was to provide a deeper understanding of holders’ demographics, experiences and intentions, in addition to their comprehension of the LISA’s terms and conditions.

Between September and November 2024, IFF Research conducted a survey with 1,613 participants who had ever held a LISA, including those who had not withdrawn from their LISA, those who had withdrawn to purchase a home, and those who had made an unauthorised withdrawal.

The views in this report are the authors’ own and do not necessarily reflect those of HMRC.
