By being collaborative and ambitious we will strengthen the UK’s health security and improve outcomes for everyone.
The strategy sets out UKHSA’s ambitions across our pillars (our core services) and our foundations (the capabilities that make our work possible):
Understand
UKHSA will be the nation’s trusted authority for fast and reliable intelligence on health threats, providing insight to others that guides action and prevents harm.
Prevent
UKHSA will move the focus of the health protection system towards prevention, reducing the severity and frequency of cases, incidents and outbreaks, through better foresight, insight and preventative action, with an emphasis on improving the effectiveness of the UK’s vaccination programmes.

Leadership and collaboration
UKHSA will build on its position as a trusted leader protecting the nation’s health, strengthening systems and building effective, reciprocal partnerships at local, regional, national and global levels.
