Details
The UK Plant Health Service has developed an international action plan to strengthen global biosecurity and protect our plants and trees from non-native pests and diseases. The likelihood of non-native pests being introduced into the UK has increased with climate change and the globalisation of trade.
The plan includes 21 international ambitions (and their associated activities) on:
- global pest monitoring
- international standards and guidance
- implementation, capacity development and market access
- research and development
- international engagement
