Several factors including energy imports contributed to Japan’s 25th consecutive monthly trade deficit.

Details
In July, for the 25th consecutive month, Japanese imports exceeded exports. This was driven largely by energy imports following the nuclear shutdown. However as exports have increased the overall trade deficit has fallen.
