Details of the application
The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Severn Trent Services (Water and Sewerage) Limited.
The applicant Severn Trent Services (Water and Sewerage) Limited initially proposed to discharge the effluent at national grid reference TQ 98090 39440. After consideration from the Environment Agency and Kent County Council (the lead local flood authority for the area) this discharge location was deemed to present an unacceptable level of risk from surface water flooding to surrounding areas.
In response to this, the applicant proposed a new discharge location at TQ 96573 38580, approximately 2km downstream of the initial proposed discharge location.
Because of this change the Environment Agency is undertaking a second public consultation (the first was from 28 November 2024 to 20 January 2025).
