Details

This guidance sets out the arrangements for the second phase of Ofsted’s thematic inspection of regional adoption agencies (RAAs).

The second phase will look at the effectiveness of adoption support in promoting stability and family life after adoption orders have been granted.

We will carry out inspection visits to 6 RAAs between September and December 2026. The RAAs will cover a range of locations, demographics, sizes, and partner local authorities with different inspection profiles.

The Department for Education has commissioned the second phase of thematic inspections of RAAs to focus on the provision of adoption support.
