Details

This instrument revokes, replaces and consolidates within one set of regulations the Merchant Shipping (International Safety Management (ISM) Code) Regulations 2014 and assimilated regulation (EC) 336/2006 on the implementation of the ISM code within the community.

Inoperable EU-related provisions are being removed. The instrument updates procedural and enforcement provisions (including criminal offences), bringing them more closely into line with other legislation implementing SOLAS survey and certification requirements. They also close some gaps which have arisen over time in the existing legislation.
