This Instrument revokes 6 items of secondary assimilated law (formerly known as retained EU law), which make provision in the field of aviation security and make amendments to other legislation. They are the:
- remaining provisions of regulation (EU) 2015/1998
- entirety of regulation (EC) 300/2008
- entirety of regulation (EC) 272/2009
- entirety of regulation (EU) 1254/2009
- council decision 2009/97/EC
- council decision 2010/302/EU
It also makes amendments to other legislation to address cross-references to the assimilated law being revoked.
Where applicable, the content of the secondary assimilated law being revoked by these regulations will be retained by alternative provisions being made within the:
- national aviation security programme
- single consolidated direction made under the Aviation Security Act 1982.
With some limited exceptions, there are no changes to aviation security policy arising from the regulation.
