July 2026 update
Employer contributions to the teachers’ pension scheme will reduce from April 2027. This means there will be a reduction in costs to education institutions. We will therefore reduce the payments through the teachers’ pension scheme employer contribution grant for further education providers from April 2027. This will reduce the allocations which were issued to institutions for academic year 2026 to 2027. There will be no overall reduction in the sector’s spending power from the pensions changes as the reduced funding will be balanced by reduced costs.
Further details are given in the grant conditions for 2026 to 2027.
