Details

Local councils can use these documents to apply for the Sustainable Travel Transition Year revenue competition to support sustainable and accessible travel projects. The documentation consists of:

  • competition guidance clarifying the type of information local councils need to provide
  • the application form local councils need to complete
  • a proforma for local councils to provide a value for money assessment of proposed projects

The Department for Transport will allocate £20 million of the new fund during a transition year between 2016 and 2017. This transition year has been set up to support local councils in the switch from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund.

A launch of a £60 million Access Fund will take place later in summer 2016 to provide further support for sustainable and accessible travel projects.
