Support in England and Wales after a positive conclusive grounds decision (accessible)

You have received a positive Conclusive Grounds decision and are currently accessing support through the government funded Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract (MSVCC), delivered by The Salvation Army and other support organisations working with them.
The support you receive will change now that you have a positive Conclusive Grounds decision.
How does support change now?
You are now in a move-on period which lasts for at least 45 days. During this time your support worker will help you take the next steps in your recovery and safely exit support delivered by the MSVCC.
You may stay in support longer than 45 days if your recovery needs cannot be met by services outside of the MSVCC. To explore this, your support worker will offer to complete a Recovery Needs Assessment (RNA) with you.
You do not have to take part in this assessment. You can choose to exit MSVCC support after 45 days or sooner. Your support worker will help you with this if that is what you decide.
What is a Recovery Needs Assessment?
A RNA identifies if you have ongoing support needs. If you do, it may recommend ongoing MSVCC support for a specific amount of time. It also identifies other services that can help with your recovery needs and how to access them.
These recommendations form part of your Transition Plan, which helps you move to independent living outside of the MSVCC.
How is a Recovery Needs Assessment used?
The Home Office uses it to decide if you need more than 45 days of MSVCC move-on support.
If you do not need extra time in MSVCC support, you will exit after 45 days.
If you do need extra time in MSVCC support, this will usually continue until you can access other suitable services with the help of your support worker. You will exit when this extra agreed time ends. If you still need more support after this, another RNA can be submitted by your support worker, and you will stay in support until a decision is reached.
How will the Home Office decide when you should exit support?
The Home Office will decide you should exit support when a RNA shows that:

You no longer have recovery needs due to modern slavery; or
-
Your recovery needs are being met by services outside the MSVCC; or
-
You can access suitable support outside of the MSVCC but are not engaging with the steps needed to access this support, without a good reason.
What is your role in a Recovery Needs Assessment?
A RNA requires information from you so you can get the support you need. You may be asked to provide bank statements or other documents to show the steps you are taking to access other support.
If you are eligible for other support to meet your needs, you should follow the actions explained in your Transition Plan by your support worker to access this support. If you do not complete these actions, some of your support could be withdrawn, or you may have to exit MSVCC support.
If there is a good reason why you cannot complete the actions in your Transition Plan to access other support, you should tell your support worker so this can be recorded in your RNA and considered by the Home Office.
What happens if you disagree with the Home Office’s decision? Your support worker can help you submit a reconsideration request. A reconsideration request must be received by the Home Office within 28 calendar days of The Salvation Army being notified of the original decision.
Are you entitled to MSVCC support after exiting?
When you exit the MSVCC all your MSVCC support ends. This includes accommodation, financial support, and contact with your support worker.
However, you can access ongoing help through the Reach-in service by calling The Salvation Army on 0800 808 3733 or by emailing the completed referral form on the Salvation Army website to mstsupport@salvationarmy.org.uk.
Exiting MSVCC support following a positive Conclusive Grounds decision does not affect your entitlement to any other services in the UK which you may be eligible for.
If your needs change you can also request to re-enter MSVCC support.
