Details of the application

Stuart Hollingsworth, Michael Hollingsworth and Mary Hollingsworth trading as J Hollingsworth and Sons, have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from King’s Fleet between National Grid References (NGRs) TM 31090 37950 and TM 31510 38200 at Falkenham, Suffolk.

The application is to abstract water for the purpose of filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation, as follows:

  • 30 cubic metres per hour
  • 600 cubic metres per day
  • 15,000 cubic metres per year

Between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

And for the purpose of direct spray irrigation, as follows:

  • 80 cubic metres per hour
  • 1,920 cubic metres per day
  • 10,000 cubic metres per year

Between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.
