Details

The guidance highway authorities must follow if they choose to operate, vary or introduce a street works permit scheme, the guidance works with the conditions for street work permit schemes.

The guidance came into force on 3 April 2023, and contains changes to the Traffic Management Permit Scheme (England) Regulations 2007 in order to improve:

  • communication between highway authorities and utility companies
  • the information available to road users
  • the operation of permit schemes
