This report covers the key environmental issues relating to water quality. It includes the water quality of rivers, estuaries, coasts and groundwater.

The report focuses on status and trends in:

  • chemicals, such as pesticides and pharmaceuticals
  • bathing water quality
  • water pollution incidents

It also summarises current and future pressures such as:

  • population growth
  • climate change
  • emerging pollutants
