Details

The 2010 standard crime contract consists of the:

  • contract for signature
  • standard terms
  • schedule
  • specification

Contract for signature

This is a short contract document which gives effect to the contract as a whole.

Use the sample contract for signature for illustration, as the contents of contracts for signature vary between providers.

Standard terms

Standard terms govern the commercial relationship between the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) and the provider.

Schedule

The schedule is an important contract document that sets out provisions specific to individual providers, including matter start allocations for controlled work. Use the sample schedule for illustration as the contents of schedules vary between providers.

Amended specification

The Standard Crime Contract 2010 has been amended to reflect the introduction of Part 1 injunctions under the Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, introduced by the Home Office.

The LAA consulted with representative bodies before making changes to the contract. You can find a notice of amendments and copies of the revised contract documentation on this page.
