The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from T J Cottis Transport Limited.
The proposed variation may significantly increase the risk from waste operations.

Regulated facility type
TJ Cottis Transport Ltd wish to vary their permit to include a physical treatment facility of non-hazardous waste mainly comprising of mechanical treatment of wastes. They propose the increase to their annual throughout by 75,000 tonnes per annum, requesting additional waste types to those currently accepted at the site, these are comprising mainly of Construction Demolition and Excavation wastes to treat at the new physical treatment part of the site which will include manual, mechanical sorting, separation, screening, compaction and blending of wastes into different components for disposal or recovery. The current permitted HCI activities will continue unchanged as will the throughout through this part of the operations with the increase in throughput only relating to the CDE wastes to be processed in the new part of the facility.
