This memo is for Specialist Employability Support (SES) providers.

Information

The SES stage 3 provider guidance takes effect from 1 November 2018. This communication contains all chapters and annexes for stage 3 apart from Chapter 9 – PPVT which is being reviewed and will be issued shortly.

Provider action

Read the enclosed provider guidance for stage 3 of SES and raise any issues, queries or any clarification with SES policy (Jeremy Theaker). It is crucial you understand the new referral process detailed in Chapter 3.

The changes to the guidance for stage 3 are:

  • chapter 1 (1.09, 1.12) – changes made to state support will be within agreed timescales as per your contract
  • chapter 3 (3.01, 3.07, 3.22) – change to say SRO’s are introduced not referred and new paragraph on the new mid-month referral process and changed Work Programme reference to WHP
  • chapter 4 (4.04) – confirms you offer SES on a weekly course as set out in your contract
  • chapter 5 (5.02) – confirms you offer SES on a weekly course as set out in your contract
  • chapter 6 (6.04) – clarifies that a Sustained Job Outcome can also be claimed if the customer fell out of employment and failed to meet the Short Job outcome but finds employment of 16 hours or more a week within 4 weeks, also adds details for any providers tracking and claiming Start Back outcomes
  • chapter 12 (12.10, 12.44) – removes the acronym WSP as providers and removes instructions meant for JCP colleagues when dealing with MAPPA cases
  • annex 2 (pages 1, 3 and 4) – compatibility with other provision has been updated

All the other chapters have just had a date and version change.
