The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Thames Water Utilities Limited.
The proposed variation will convert another kind of regulated facility into an installation.

This is standard rules SR 2009 No4 waste permit to utilise biogas at a Swindon Waste Water sewage which is being converted to a bespoke permit to add a Specified Generator which is now required under Schedule 25B of the EPR. The generator is already in operation on site and has been for a number of years, but this is a new legal requirement following the 2018 amendment to the EPR regarding the regulation of Specified Generators
