This report reviews the policy challenge of increasing the demand for, and investment in, skills from employers in the UK. It covers five main areas:
- the goals of the skills system
- the challenge of increasing the demand for skills
- the status of the skills system today
- matching skills supply and demand
- addressing low skills demand
It was commissioned as part of the Foresight Future of skills and lifelong learning project.
