Details of the application

Sibelco UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Sutton Sand Formation at an area formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References: SE92372 04667, SE93100 04872, SE93157 04534 and SE92337 04398 near Greetwell, Brigg, Lincolnshire.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 300 cubic metres an hour
  • 3,040 cubic metres a day
  • 643,630 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 30 November inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for dewatering and dust suppression.
