Details

This report presents the findings of a process evaluation of the Serious Violence Duty, which was introduced in 2022 as a statutory requirement to prevent and reduce serious violence. It places a duty on local authorities, police, and other public sector bodies such as youth justice services, to work in partnership to tackle serious violence across all of England and Wales. The statutory guidance can be found here: Serious Violence Duty

This evaluation examines how partnership working was achieved and sustained, and reports areas’ assessments of the outcomes of the Serious Violence Duty. The report also provides recommendations to support the further development of multi-agency approaches.
