Updated 2 April 2024

Applies to England

Introduction

We are offering schools and colleges (settings) a grant to pay for senior mental health lead training.

To register for this grant, you should have already submitted the initial application form as outlined in step 1 of this guidance. Please complete step 1 before continuing with step 2.

You now need to tell us which Department for Education (DfE) quality assured training course you have booked to complete your application.

This guidance helps you to complete the ‘confirm training course details’ form. Your grant will be paid following a satisfactory review of the information you submit.

You must complete the form to confirm your training course details so we can authorise payment of your grant.

When to complete the second step of your grant application

You will have up to 3 weeks after you have completed the grant application form to submit your form for confirming your training course details.

If you do not submit your form within 3 weeks, we may release your place to other applicants and you will need to submit a new grant application form, subject to the availability of places.

Your current approach to mental health and wellbeing

You will be asked several questions relating to your setting’s senior mental health lead, including other role(s) they may have. You must select as many roles that apply from the checklist provided.

Confirm which quality assured training course you have booked

In this section, you are asked to provide information about the DfE quality assured training course you have booked, including:

  • how you found this course
  • the course code (which will automatically populate the course title and training provider)
  • start and end dates
  • cost (excluding VAT)

Upload evidence of your booking for a quality assured training course

You will need to upload evidence of your DfE quality assured training course booking. The evidence must include details about your course, including the course code, course title, name of the training provider and the course start date.

This could be a scanned copy, photograph or attachment of:

  • an invoice from your training provider(s)
  • a confirmation email from your training provider(s)

You must upload at least one file (file 1).

You can submit a maximum of 5 files, up to a total of 10MB each. To do this, select ‘choose file’ in each case and navigate to the document on your own computer to upload it. You will see confirmation on screen that the file has been successfully added.

If you attempt to upload a file type that is not supported, you will receive an error message showing the types that can be uploaded. Acceptable file formats are .pdf, .png (image file), .jpg (image file), .doc (Word document) and .docx (Word document). We cannot accept uploads of email files (.msg files).
