Self Assessment customers using Verify to access online services
Self Assessment customers using Verify will be unable to access Self Assessment online service to set up a direct debit. When trying to access these parts of the service you’ll be taken to the ‘login’ page and won’t be able to proceed any further. This issue won’t stop you from submitting your Self Assessment tax return.
This issue is currently under investigation.
Returns filed or filled in on 4 January 2018
If you filed your return on 4 January 2018 and haven’t had confirmation of submission, don’t resend it. HM Revenue and Customs are still processing these returns.
If you filled in your return on 4 January 2018 and were asked to save and resubmit this later you can now do so. We know that the majority of you have. Some of you still need to do this before 31 January 2018.
Please remember when you retrieve your saved return and you get the message ‘temporarily unavailable’ you should clear your cookies and cache. Then click back to stage 4 ‘Fill in your return’ and follow the instructions to complete the return.
