The ‘How to Apply’ guidance explains the process to follow when making an application to run the first secure school, and sets out the criteria that all applications will be assessed against.

All potential applicants will have equal access to support and guidance from the Ministry of Justice, the Department for Education and NHS England.

There will be an Applicant Support Window which will run from Monday 19 November 2018 to Friday 7 December 2018. During this 3-week period potential applicants will have the option to engage with experts from the youth justice estate and receive the support to enable them to formulate strong applications. We would also like to have introductory conversations with all interested applicants on w/c 12 November to discuss the guidance we have issued.

To register your interest in applying and to access support from our experts, please complete the registration form by midday 7 November 2018 and we will be in touch to schedule an appointment.

You must submit your application by midday 1 February 2019 to: secureschoolsapplications@justice.gov.uk

Contact the Secure Schools team if you need any more information on how to apply to set up the first secure school.
