SCE vacancies

Information about SCE recruitment is available in documents published on this webpage. A list of current SCE school teaching vacancies is available.

Vacancies which are prefixed with an EX Number are classed as Fixed Term Appointments (FTA). Applications of which are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, who qualify for UK residency status and are dependants of entitled personnel within the area of the SCE school.

Vacancies which state ‘Internal’ are for existing SCE teaching staff, appointed through open and fair competition.

For closing dates please see within the relevant vacancy details.

Please be aware

The current Strategic Defence Spending Review will lead to a reduction of schools within SCE and it is expected British Forces in Germany will not continue beyond 2020. However, the Strategic Defence Spending Review has no known impact upon schools outside of Germany and it is anticipated SCE will go on beyond the withdrawal from Germany.

It is SCE’s aim is to maintain the highest standards and continue to achieve good inspection results. Schools will remain well resourced. Continual professional development will be available and there will be opportunities for promotion and career development, albeit within a smaller number of schools.

Where there is knowledge of a school closure there will be an increasing need to consider fixed term appointments to mitigate the requirement to redeploy staff to another SCE school.
