The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Blue Phoenix Limited.
The proposed variation may have significant negative effects on humans or the environment.

Regulated facility type
An existing Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) permitted to accept 200 tpa of IBA. Changes proposed include:
- Extension of the current environmental permit boundary to incorporate additional storage space (the extension will increase the Site’s maximum storage capacity at any one time from approximately 100,000 tonnes at present to 175,000 tonnes)
- Increase the permitted annual throughput at the site by 100,000tpa (increasing the sites annual throughput to 300,000tpa)
- Addition of a second attenuation lagoon for attenuation of surface water runoff from the Site’s extension area
- Incorporate a point source discharge to sewer at SK 32263 92013 from the new attenuation lagoon
