This flow chart or ‘tree’ shows the process for deciding whether a 2008 rail vehicle accessibility regulations exemption order will be agreed or not.

Apart from the stated procedures, the Secretary of State for Transport retains personal discretion for denying requests. In such cases, however, the Secretary of State must first consult the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee for their views.
