Operators of nuclear sites are expected to have high standards of management to ensure that they can comply with their radioactive substances activity permit (or permits) and protect the public and wildlife from their disposals of radioactive waste.

This guidance is to help operators understand the Environment Agency’s expectations of nuclear operators and their management systems. Operators should read this guidance in conjunction with the How to comply guidance for nuclear sites.
