Details

These tools allow users of road casualty data to view or extract data of interest. Underlying data is available on the road safety data page. These tools remain in development. Feedback on any issues accessing them, or suggestions for improvement, are welcome via the contact details below.

Bespoke data downloads - collision analysis tool

The Collision Analysis Tool (CAT) allows users to select and download bespoke extracts of casualty, collision or vehicle data.

Please note that this tool remains in development and currently does not support many concurrent users. Should errors occur, please try refreshing the tool, or, if necessary, trying at a different time.

Minor data revision: On updating the CAT tool with 2025 data, a small revision has been made to the data for 2024 to correct an error affecting only the ‘vehicle location’ variable. In 2024, several hundred records with the value ‘Lay-by or hard shoulder’ were incorrectly recoded as ‘no data’, and these have now been corrected where possible. Further details are available from the road safety data page.

Casualty mapping tool

Our Mapping Application for Visualising Road Injury Casualties (MAVRIC) tool allows users to view and count casualties for a given location or numbered road.

Casualty visualisation tool

Our interactive road casualty dashboard allows users to visualise casualty data patterns and trends for selected areas or road user groups.
