RISE advisers are educational experts with direct experience of improving schools. For targeted intervention, they engage with the eligible school and its responsible body to consider the school’s specific improvement needs.
32 schools joined the RISE targeted intervention programme in February 2025. A further 187 schools joined the programme in the 2025 summer term and 171 schools joined in the 2025 autumn term. 37 more schools joined the programme in January 2026, bringing the total to 427 schools engaged nationally. These figures, along with the list of schools receiving targeted RISE intervention, will be updated each term.
Eligibility for targeted RISE intervention is determined through Ofsted inspections. Further details on eligibility and the circumstances in which a school may receive targeted RISE intervention are outlined in the support and intervention in schools guidance.
Schools may gain or lose eligibility as they are inspected. The current list is based on published Ofsted management information and is correct as of 31 December 2025.
