Details of the application

The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Britaniacrest Recycling Limited.

1.16.5 and 1.16.12. The application seeks the following modifications to the existing permit:

  • Consolidation of existing permit to reflect modern language and conditions of Environmental Permits for a Hazardous Waste Transfer Station.

  • Storage of hazardous wastes (as specified below)

  • Permit boundary extension to include all areas under the Operators control.

  • Permitted annual tonnage increase by 50,000 tonnes.

  • Inclusion of further EWC Codes to reflect current and ongoing Regulatory changes within the waste sector.

  • Enable the treatment of wastes outside, which is currently authorised for certain waste types.
