Details
This statutory direction has been revoked from 30 April 2026 following a report by Ofsted published on 12 January 2026.
This revised direction requires the council to continue to co-operate with the commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education.
It follows:
- an independent report by the Commissioner for Solihull Children Services, Sir Alan Wood
- an Ofsted inspection report of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council local authority children’s services published 13 January 2023 that judged services to be inadequate
This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to the council in November 2022.
