This direction requires the council to co-operate with the children’s services commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education.
It follows Ofsted’s inspection report of North East Lincolnshire Council local authority children’s services, published on 3 September 2025, that judged services to be good.
This direction replaces an earlier statutory direction issued to North East Lincolnshire council in May 2024.
