Details
This direction requires the council to co-operate with a Department for Education Children’s Services Commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education.
It follows:
- a 13 May 2025 Ofsted report that judged children’s services to be inadequate
- an independent report by Nigel Richardson, the Devon County Council Children’s Services Commissioner at the time
This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to the council in June 2025.
