2. Why we may process your personal data

Our purpose for processing your personal data is assess compliance with the permit requirement to report nitrogen and phosphorus emissions in livestock excreta from permitted farms.

The lawful basis we rely on to process your personal data is article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, which allows us to process personal data when this is necessary to exercise our official authority. The processing has a basis in the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016.

3. What personal data we process and how we use it

We collect personal data from you directly using the reporting form online.

We collect your:

  • name
  • email address
  • site address
  • operator name
  • permit number

We use your personal data to:

  • check your compliance with regulations
  • contact you about your submission if required

We do not share your personal data with any other party without your consent unless we are required or permitted to do so by law.

We do not use your personal information to make an automated decision or for automated profiling.

4. Where your personal information is stored and processed 

We store and process your personal data in the UK.

5. How long we keep your personal data

We keep your personal data used to determine compliance with the reporting requirement for 7 years after your submission has been processed.

6. Changes to this notice

We may change this privacy notice. In that case, the ‘last updated’ date at the bottom of this page will also change. Any changes to this privacy notice will apply to you and your data immediately.

If these changes affect how your personal data is processed, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
