The Rail Opportunities Day was held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre on 22 May 2013.

Presentations were given by senior Department for Transport (DfT) officials and key industry figures including:

  • Richard Brown (Chairman, Eurostar International)
  • Alex Hynes (MD - Rail Development, Go-Ahead Group)
  • Nicola Shaw (CEO, HS1)
  • Paul Plummer, Group Strategy Director, Network Rail)

Speakers presented on a range of subjects including an overview of the franchising programme, its opportunities and objectives and a franchise bidding masterclass.
