RAIB produces a report on every accident and incident that has been the subject of a full investigation. Each report sets out the facts of the occurrence, describes the investigation process and the evidence gathered, provides an analysis of the events surrounding the accident and sets out the RAIB’s conclusions and recommendations.
RAIB may publish a bulletin after it completes its preliminary site examination into an incident, and decides not to carry out a full investigation. However, the RAIB may feel that it is appropriate to provide information or advice relating to the incident that it has learnt from its preliminary examination. Such information or advice (or ‘learning points’) will be published in a bulletin to assist duty holders.
