Details of the application

Quinn Estates Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Great Stour River at Conningbrook Park, at National Grid Reference (NGR) TR 03515 43976. The purpose is wetland creation and pollution remediation.

The abstraction volumes are as follows:

  • 110 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,420 cubic metres a day
  • 607,725 cubic metres a year.
  • the abstraction period is all year.

Further details are: 93% of the abstracted water will be discharged into the river at NGR TR 03373 44355 and 7% will be lost to infiltration and evapotranspiration.
