The only operator who used this quality protocol decided not to proceed with a revision and applied to the Environment Agency’s definition of waste service for a case by case opinion for their material. No one else came forward to revise the quality protocol.

Details

PLA will normally cease to be waste, and no longer subject to waste management controls provided it:

  • requires no further processing before use, ie it meets the requirements of the industry standard including controls on inputs and any additional specification specified by the customer
  • is destined for use as an agricultural fertiliser
