On 10 March 2026, the Department for Education published the government’s response to the Post-16 level 3 and below pathways consultation. As part of this response, we published a list of qualifications with 1080 and above guided learning hours in T level areas, that will have funding approval removed from 1 August 2027.

We are now publishing a list that informs education providers and awarding bodies which additional qualifications will have funding approval removed from 1 August 2027.

These additional qualifications are:

  • level 3 digital
  • level 3 accounting and finance
  • levels 2 and 3 child development and well-being, teaching and lecturing, and direct learning support sectors

We are also publishing the equalities impact assessment and guidance for awarding bodies who may want to submit a notification against one of the additional qualifications due to have funding approval removed.
