On 13 June 2022, the MHRA granted a request by McNeil Products Limited to add three new pack sizes (3, 4 & 6 cannisters) to the licence for Nicorette QuickMist 1mg/spray mouthspray and Nicorette QuickMist Smart Track 1mg/spray mouthspray, which is available as a general sale list (GSL) medicine.
Nicorette QuickMist 1mg/spray mouthspray and Nicorette QuickMist Smart Track 1mg/spray mouthspray contain the active ingredient nicotine.
The request to increase the pack size for Nicorette QuickMist 1mg/spray mouthspray and Nicorette QuickMist Smart Track 1mg/spray mouthspray was assessed against the GSL criterion. No new or unexpected safety concerns arose from this request and it was therefore deemed that the benefits of having Nicorette QuickMist and Nicorette QuickMist Smart Track available in larger pack sizes to relieve and or prevent cravings and nicotine withdrawal symptoms outweigh the risks.
The maximum pack size for Nicorette QuickMist 1mg/spray mouthspray and Nicorette QuickMist Smart Track 1mg/spray mouthspray as a GSL medicine is now 6 cannisters in a pack and there are no other changes to the conditions for this product as a GSL medicine.
