Following the freedom of information requests set out below, the department is publishing the requested information.

Please can the department publish the list of applications to open a university technical college or a technical academy in September 2012, including the geographical area which each will be situated in, if approved.

Please can the department publish the list of applications to open 16 to 19 free schools in September 2012, including information as to which geographical area each would be located, if approved.

Release

The attached table contains the following information in relation to wave 2 free school applications (university technical colleges, technical academies[1], 16-19 free schools):

  • Name of proposed free school as stated in application
  • Region
  • Proposed local authority in which the free school would be situated

Explanatory note

[1] The applications listed as technical academies were self-identified as such by the applicants during the application process.
