This report was commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from IFF Research. Its objective was to build a greater understanding of supply-side issues to complement research commissioned by the Office for Product Safety and Standards investigating the views and behaviours of consumers in relation to product safety. It had qualitative and quantitative strands. The former involved 84 in-depth interviews with a range of organisations, a focus group with manufacturers, and 6 stakeholder interviews. The latter entailed a Computer Assisted Telephone Interview with 1000 businesses, comprising manufacturers, distributors, retailers, repairers and installers working in sectors under OPSS remit.
